Part 3 How to Fix a Little Mishap, Open Back Bezels

Little mishaps happen all the time when working with UV resin

Welcome back to part 3 working with open back bezels this is the final part of this tutorial, its a little extra really because of the little mishap at the end of part 2

What was the mishap?

You saw at the end of part 2 whilst I was un-taping the bezels I discovered a little mishap – a bump in the resin quite a large one maybe caused by a bubble forming. If you missed part 2 you can watch here.

How will I Fix This?

Well I could try sand paper or my deburring tool they would be my first thoughts – But this needs a Dremel, my Dremel Multi Tool that I have attached to a flexi shaft, this makes it easier to handle for more precise work, I have my Dremel set up on my work bench ready to use at all times, very handy indeed.

Lets watch the video now ..

The Results

I did a quick bit of pen work to tidy up, and out lined the random colour shapes with black to make them look a little sharper, before adding a finishing layer of resin – this has turned out well, no sign of where I drilled into the piece. So all is good, like I say ‘often’ Don’t bin it – FIX IT !

I am planning to cover as many of these little annoying mishaps that happen when crafting with UV resin as I can and so far they seem to be turning up quite naturally whilst I am videoing projects for you to try or show casing some of my own creations being made.

What’s Coming Next?

In my next tutorial I am staying with UV resin and I will show you ‘Doming’ adding more layers with UV Resin to give a nicer finish to your pendants and also earrings too.
