UV Resin and Clay Tools

Resin and clay tools and materials make a huge difference when you’re starting out… below you’ll find the exact products I personally use in my own handmade resin and clay creations, from UV lamps and resin to clay tools and finishing supplies.
If you’re just getting started, here is my list of best tools and materials I personally use:
I’d recommend beginning with a UV lamp, clear UV resin and a simple silicone mould – everything else can build from here. There is a very good UV resin starter kit, that you can get from Amazon made by Lets Resin, which does have everything you need to get started – I think this is really good value kit and it includes a small (but perfectly functionable) UV lamp as well.

UV Lamp – My Lamp is looking a little worse for wear these days-it does get a lot of use.
This is the UV lamp I use for curing small jewellery pieces and sculptural details. It cures resin quickly, evenly and on both sides, it can be opened out to fit slightly larger items when needed – its very versatile to use.
UV Resin
This is the UV resin I use to create jewellery, keyrings and also coat and detail my clay pieces. It cures quickly under the lamp and gives a clear glossy, glass like finish without a strong odour
UV Torch
I also use a small UV torch for targeted curing and quick touch-ups. Its especially useful for small resin details and layered work.

Another very useful tool with resin is a Deburring Tool which you can find here on Amazon Its great for taking of rough edges of resin after demoulding
Air Dry Clay
This is the air dry clay that I like to work with for jewellery pieces and also sculptural bases before sealing with resin. I find it’s lightweight, easy to shape by hand, and sands smoothly once fully dry. There are variations in colour too white, stone or terracotta which is very useful.
Clay tools
I also use these with resin and and to paint with too – fabulous for cleaning after painting, just need a quick wipe with a wet wipe, no washing, no white spirit so easy.
These are the basic clay tools I use for shaping, smoothing and adding texture before painting and sealing. The silicone brush tips are also very useful when using with resin .
Wire Crafting Tools & Materials
Soft Jaw Pliers ( No More Marked Wire)
If you’ve ever noticed dents or marks in your wire after shaping, it’s usually caused by standard metal pliers. Switching to soft jaw pliers made a huge difference for me. They grip the wire securely but don’t leave any marks, which means your finished pieces look much more professional. I use these all the time when working on my jewellery and wire projects. Flat Nosed Pliers
You will see me using in my tutorial videos these are great for sturdy grasping of small items and you can see them here on Amazon
Round Nose Pliers
For coiling and making loops available here
Black Crafting Wire
Black wire I use for my Abstract Jewellery you can find here its 18 gauge 1mm wire
Copper Wire
Fine copper wire adds structure and warmth to my pieces. I use it to wrap branches and create sculptural detail. This wire is nice and easy to bend and shape.
Adding Colour: Paints, Pigment, Dyes & Mica Powders
Acrylic Paints
I use acrylic paints on clay pieces to add depth and colour before sealing with resin. They blend beautifully and allow me to create layered tones
Glass Paint
In the photo you can see I have used glass paint over resin to create translucent amber tones in my resin details. It gives a stained-glass effect when layered.
Mica Powders
Added to your resin or brushed dry onto a mould – fabulous colours
Coloured UV Resin
No mixing needed these are ready to use 20g bottles
