What this video is about

In this second video you will see me using metallic pens to add decoration to the bezel we left with clear UV resin in it. I love working with these pens, they have great colours and you can work so fast with them as you can see in the video. I will add a link at the end for these pens.

You also see me adding another layer of UV resin to each bezel – please note they are still attached to the resin tape at this stage and again you can see how handy it is having a wooden stick at each end of the tape for transporting to and from the UV lamp for curing.

Now right at the end of the video, I have had a little mishap (these things happen to us all) I have not edited it out, because it gives me the opportunity to show you, how to overcome a problem like this -which has led me into a part 3 to this tutorial.

Lets watch the video now ..

Safety

Now did you spot my BIG mistake? I always talk about safety whilst working with resin, and I did not have my gloves on when I was handling resin – I promise you, I always do wear gloves, but I think because I went from using pens, to then applying a resin layer, I got so involved with the filming that I slipped up, luckily I did not get any resin on my skin, I really cannot stress enough PLEASE DO WEAR GLOVES WHEN WORKING WITH RESIN and work in a safe environment.

It is such a lovely moment when you peel off the resin tape to see your piece properly for the first time, and you decide which is to be the front or back, and should you colour the back? ( we will cover that in future tutorials)

Like I said mishaps happen – that is quite a lump of resin there, not really sure what caused it, possibly a bubble maybe. Anyway I will show you how I dealt with it in part 3 its all a learning curve.

Here are some of the items you have seen me using in this video
The metallic pens

I am using are these from Amazon there are quite a few to choose from, so do have a look, you may prefer the look of others, but these are the ones that I personally use.

The open back bezels

I am using, are these ones again from Amazon, and as with the pens, there are so many different sets of bezels, so again use this link to take you to the right area, but take a look through you may see other shaped bezels, that suit your requirements better.

Resin tape

Finally the resin tape, this comes in different widths, I have seen people use other methods like parcel tape etc, I personally would not suggest that – resin tape is very sticky, and it needs to be, you do not want to have your resin leaking out between the tape and your open back bezels, which is why I strongly advise you use actual resin tape that has been made for the purpose you can see some here

Coming soon

So now keep a watch out for part 3 this will be posted shortly and see how easily I fix the problem that occurred, because the chances are, that one day, you will find your self in the same situation.
