Air Dry Clay & UV Resin Combined Crafts

You will see overtime with me that I love to use Air Dry Clay & UV Resin Combined Crafts in so many of my projects. Here I have designed and handcrafted air dry clay dogs and Birds – that I have coloured and glazed with UV resin – I will be writing a full step by step tutorial on how I created these in a future blog.

The big difference between the two craft materials is that the air dry clay needs time to dry, this can be a few days so patience is required and also space for the pieces to be laid out to dry. I will talk in more detail in the tutorial about this. The UV resin on the other hand gives instant results, and if you use resin inks and dyes for colours instead of paint, again you will have a beautiful finish without waiting for paints to dry.

The Birds I am planning to make into wall hangings, and the dogs will become keyrings and brooch pins, I have used DAS Air Dry Clay in Stone Colour for this project, but you could use any colour, I always use DAS clay thou I find it works well for me. Check it out here on Amazon

This is a sample of what I do with my clay birds – I like to paint with bright colours, in this case I used a specialised glass paint and then glazed with UV resin to add a glossy finish but also adding strength and protection to the air dry clay.

The Dogs are transformed into cute keyring – Bag Charms and Brooch Pins, They make great unique handmade dog lover gifts. Again made with air dry clay and glazed with UV resin, the colouring is all resin inks and dyes.

I will be posting shortly the full tutorial showing you how you can also make these or similar items, combining air dry clay and UV resin in your crafts, I think you will agree that these two combine very nicely together. These items are available for purchase from my Etsy shop
