My abstract jewellery is created intuitively, allowing colour, wire, and resin to guide the design process. Rather than depicting specific objects, each piece explores shape, movement, and light, resulting in unique wearable artworks that can never be exactly duplicated.
Each piece begins with me holding a some wire in my hand – it maybe copper, silver or black wire.
While holding the wire and feeling it – I may start to bend it a little, maybe a twist or a coil and then I am ready to start – so I cut myself a length of wire ( I don’t measure I just guess how much I will need and then that governs if I make a larger maybe elongated piece or a smaller more rounded piece.
These earrings below show an example of elongated and smaller rounded piece.
I enjoy the freedom within art that abstract gives you to create forms, shapes and use colours as you wish too without templates and measurements – there is no right or wrong way with art, it is a feeling from within
With my abstract collection, I use black wire, which I think really makes the colours pop, especially so with my earrings range, they have a wonderful stained glass effect – and look stunning as the sun light shines through the colours. But you could of course use silver, copper or whatever colour you like and still have exciting results.

Now in this tutorial video below, I am creating an abstract pendant, which is the same process as in creating the earrings ( Only it is just one piece ) except that with a pendant you need to apply a layer of resin with white pigment on the back of your pendant, this is because unlike the earrings that are worn where the natural light can shine through them showing the beautiful colours at their best – a pendant is worn close to the body/clothing which can change how the colours of your pendant are displayed, but with a white background your colours will stay true, bright and bold.

Definition of Abstract
Abstract means that the design does not try to realistically represent a specific object , person, flower, animal, or scene. Instead, it uses colour, shape, line, texture, movement, and emotion to create visual interest and personal interpretation.
Here is another pendant I created as part of my abstract jewellery collection, I added a short chain detail to this one, I think it works very well.
