Best UV Resin for Beginners
First of all you need a good reliable UV Resin – I use Lets Resin from Amazon, but before you just dive in there and take a look, I recommend you try one of their Starter Kits, they are great value and practically have absolutely everything in there, that you would need, for your very first project. It really makes sense to go down this starter kit route, gives you the chance to try it out, to check if it is the right craft for you before you blow a lot of money, on all kinds of tools and materials. Some starter kits even have a UV Lamp included. View this UV resin Starter Kit here. on Amazon
Important Safety Advice
I can not talk about you starting up with Resin crafting, without mentioning safety – some people do choose to ignore this, and you will have seen on social media people saying – I have never worn a mask with UV resin – You don’t need to! I say to that, they have been very fortunate then, BUT why would you put your health at possible risk rather than wear a mask ! it just makes sense to protect yourself, as much as possible, from harmful VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) that come from ‘Uncured’ resin. I will cover more of this in a future blog. Its quite simple really, follow correct safety requirements and enjoy your resin crafting knowing that you are safe.
Safety Equipment
First on the list is a mask – preferably a half face or full face respirator I personally use a half face respirator and although it looks quite bulky when handling it, when its on its really quite comfortable. This is the one I use and its a reasonable cost too check it out here on Amazon

Next is gloves, Nitrile gloves – you really don’t want resin on your skin, and believe me crafting with resin it gets every where, I sometimes feel that every thing I touch is sticky, I advise that you buy a good supply of them, they will always be needed and are a MUST HAVE! I use these ones, little tip I buy L size so as I can pull them on and off quickly, but that’s just personal choice.
Air Purifiers do you need one? I have one on my work bench and I love it – is it essential probably not, but it is just a nice little bit of extra protection for your lungs, removing the toxins in the air. Below I have listed 3 types of air purifiers including the one I have.
- This is the one I have MORENTO Air Purifier
- Now this is the one I would like to have one day the RESINERS Air Purifier
- And finally the LEVOIT Air Purifier
So now if you are going for a starter kit plus the safety gear – YOU are ready to start crafting, enjoy the experience have fun experimenting, and pop back here sometimes, for some problem solving with UV resin.
Decided Not To Go with a Starter Kit
You will obviously need the above safety equipment, Plus UV resin and the items listed below, depending on what you are planning on making.
For resin I highly recommend Lets Resin this is the one I use for all my projects from Amazon and you will often find it on special deals, which is when I buy mine.
You will need a UV lamp and I have listed 3 types below, one of which is the one I use myself. There are many UV lamps to choose from, you need to consider also the amount of space you have to work within, and the type of resin pieces you are hoping to create.
- The LETS RESIN Double Light – this is the one I currently use and have done so for a few years now – I like the versatility of this one because it splits in two great for curing larger pieces.
- This WINARTTON UV Lamp looks good for the price
- And Finally RESINERS UV LIGHT a wireless and foldable lamp
Depending on what you want to create you may need molds or bezels you can find a good selection of these on Amazon, from pretty Butterfly Molds like these to molds to make your own Buttons
Colours – Pigments, Dyes Mica Powders
I have written a previous blog on using colours you can see here
