A little more colour and sparkle joins the Mary-Anne Collection with my new Pride Characters – I started creating my character bag charms or keychains with the idea of everyone, one day being able to relate to a character in some way or another, so I am attempting to include as many characters as possible, from all walks of life.
Pride Collection
I started with the intention of just creating one figure with a connection to the Pride Community, but as I was making the finishing touches I had a vision pop into my mind for another character and then another – and before I knew it, I could see that these Pride characters were going to be a collection on their own – still a big part of The Mary-Anne Collection – but as a sub collection, I have many more ideas for these colourful and fun characters.

It’s been such fun creating these characters, to celebrate Pride, individuality and simply being yourself. As with my main Mary-Anne Collection characters each one has their own personality and story to tell.
‘Pride and Joy‘ is just on the way to a Pride Festival, dressed up with colours of the rainbow and face decorated with sparkles, shoulder bag for their phone, money and maybe extra sparkles to share with friends – off to have fun and make lots of new friends.
‘Be You‘ is happy and comfortable with life and wants to spread the word to others – to be proud and happy with their place in this world.
‘Pride Sparkle‘ has embraced change in their life and is in full acceptance – proudly carrying the butterfly, a symbol of transformation.
I wonder who I will create next, maybe it will be a character that you can personally relate too. Whoever it might be, I know there will be a bright and colourful Pride Character bag charm or keychain ready to adorn somebody’s bag or set of keys.

These character bag charms / keychains make wonderful handmade gifts for someone special. I have made them using black wire to make the framework and then UV resin which is hand painted with transparent glass paint that gives a stained glass effect, before painting facial features and adding little extra embellishments.
They are based on simple stick figure drawings and I use cotton yarn to create the hair styles. Mary-Anne Handmade Character bag charms are also very collectable, with their personalised name card signed by myself and the cute hessian drawstring gift bag in which they are packed, wrapped in tissue paper waiting for you to unwrap them and welcome them into your life.
